A month long conceptual project for TAI (Turkish Aerospace Industries) campus located in the outskirts of Ankara, Turkey. To be able to reflect the cutting edge technology level of the company, the concept tries to consume the very essence of the mosque  typology, while providing a modernist approach for the whole; not only creating a religious facility, but also an attraction zone, and a recreation area for the campus users with the proposed urban scale ideas that surrounds the building itself.

 

 

The artificial pond that the mosque penetrates into, is limiting the physical contact from three sides down to visual only, which actually enriches the recreational area of the design, while providing a seclusion for the mosque users. The main value of the pond however, is it's surface that reflects the sunlight in to the building, through the calming pattern of the waves, which aims to enrich the atmosphere of the interior.
